Karnak Temple Complex is part of the ancient city of Thebes and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. The name comes from the nearby modern village of Karnak, about 2.5 km north of Luxor.
Luxor Temple:
Luxor Temple was built during the 18th and 19th dynasties. Amenhotep III and Ramses II built the most significant parts, including the open court, pylon, and obelisks. Hatshepsut and Thutmose III built a small shrine with three chapels for Theban Triad, likely rebuilt by Ramses II.
