Clothing while in Egypt

Islam is Egypt’s official religion, and most Egyptians are Sunni Muslims. As a result, the majority of Egyptian women dress modestly. They usually cover their shoulders, knees, and hair. Meanwhile, in areas like Marsa Alam, Soma Bay, Hurghada, and El Gouna, you can feel free to wear your favorite clothing styles and enjoy outdoor activities, and the sea restores.

Although Egypt is a safe country for women, I strongly advise you to leave your tank tops and shorts at home and follow local norms by wearing a cover-up. As a western lady visiting Egypt, you will surely attract much male attention. If you don’t cover yourself, be prepared for a barrage of stares and catcalls.
