Colossi of Memnon:
Colossi of memnon located in the west bank of Luxor , the two massive statues standing at 60 feet in tall at the entrance of Amenhotep III temple with two smaller statues carved below his feet one belongs to king Amenhotep wife and the other one belongs to his mother.
The name of colossi of Memnon came from a phenomenon happened by one of the statues after an earthquake.
Karnak temple dates back to 2055 BC around to 100 AD and it was dedicated to Theban triad of Amun, Khonsu and Mut, it was known in ancient Egypt as Ipet-Isu which means “the most selected place”, actually they meant that the complex was the most selected place for religious purposes and worships.
The hypostyle hall of Karnak temple complex consisting of 134 columns at 16,495 meters still the largest man-made religious place built ever!
Luxor temple located in the heart of Luxor city, and it dates back to eighteenth dynasty of the new kingdom around 1500BC.
