the Temples of Abu Simbel either by private bus or domestic flight: You will meet our English-speaking tour guide in Aswan who will transfer you in a private air-conditioned van to Abu Simbel, which is located south of Aswan on the West Bank.
The Nile River, 180 miles south of the First Cataract in the Nubia region. The site was known as Meha in ancient times and was first documented in the 18th Dynasty, when Ay and
Horemheb had small rock-cut chapels in the hills to the south. Upon arrival, you will proceed to visit the temples of Abu Simbel built by the famous
King Ramesses II.
The largest temple was called the Great Temple. It was built by Ramesses II and dedicated to the popular god Rahorakhty. While the smaller temple was dedicated to King Ramses II himself and his beautiful wife,
Queen Nefertari. After completing your day tour, you will drive back to
Aswan.
You arrive in Aswan and will be transferred by private air-conditioned bus to your chosen hotel there to check-in, rest and refresh, or transfer to Aswan Airport to catch your domestic flight to Cairo.
