The High Dam:
one of the world’s largest man-made lakes. In order to build the dam, more than 90,000 people had to be moved, and 22 architectural structures, including the Abu Simbel and Philae temples, had to be relocated. While most people would not consider it a must-see on its own, the Aswan Dam is a fascinating stop on guided tours of the area’s historic landmarks.

The Obelisk is currently about one-third bigger than any other ancient Egyptian obelisk ever completed. Experts say that if the Obelisk had been completed, it would have stood around 120 feet tall and weighed almost 1,200 tons!

This temple is located 45 kilometers north of Aswan and 167 kilometers south of Luxor on the banks of the Nile in the same-named town. All our packages and tours of Egypt do not include entrance fees to special archaeological sites such as visiting inside the pyramids, the Museum where the Solar Boat is located in the pyramid area, or to enter the Tutankhamun tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor.
