Alexandria Port is the most important and largest port in the Arab Republic of Egypt in terms of trade volume, and through it about 60% of foreign trade is traded. It is called the “Western Port” among the public to distinguish it from the shallow eastern port for fishing boats.

The Western Port receives navigational traffic from cargo and passenger ships. The port is geographically divided into 9 regions, six of which are in Alexandria Port, known as the Eastern Port, and three regions in Dekheila Port. A number of companies operating in the port exceed 156 companies specialized in maritime business, container handling, ship financing, maintenance and construction, shipping agencies, shipping and unloading, and other maritime businesses.
