Pyramids-Giza On the second day of your unique 6 days Cairo and Alexandria Tour, you will have your tasty breakfast at the hotel before joining your private Egyptologist tour guide to explore the first historical area you will explore:

    Giza Pyramids Complex:

The immortal area and the iconic value of ancient Egypt’s civilization, which contains three main pyramids that date to the fourth dynasty of the old kingdom in ancient Egypt, go back more than 4000 years,

    The Great Pyramid:

The great pyramid, or Khufu Pyramid which was built by king Khufu, is one of the biggest and oldest constructions in the world, standing at 146.6 meters tall and made from around 2 million large blocks weighing 6 million tons. The great pyramid was categorized as the tallest man-made structure for more than 3,800 years, and it is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

    The Great Sphinx:

The great sphinx is one of the oldest monuments and sculptures in ancient Egypt. It is the loyal guard of the Giza pyramid complex, which was constructed by King Khafre, and it is believed that the building process of the great sphinx took more than 3 years and more than 100 workers.

    Saqqara Step Pyramid:

The Saqqara step pyramid, also known as the Pyramid of Djoser, is located north-west of Memphis and was built by Amenhotep, King Djoser’s adviser and the high priest of God Amun-Re. The pyramid was built in the third dynasty of ancient Egypt for the purpose of King Djoser’s burial.

    Memphis City:

All of the great monuments and historical sites were built during the time when Memphis city was the capital of Egypt, so it is considered the settlement and the center of power of the old kingdom of ancient Egypt. Your lunch will be served at a very reputable restaurant during the Second Day in Your 6 Days Cairo and Alexandria Tour, and at the end of the day Two in Your 6 Days Cairo and Alexandria Tour, we will drive you back to your hotel for the overnight.

Salah-Eldin-Citadel On day three, you will continue your 6 Days Cairo and Alexandria Tour by visiting the Islamic attractions of Cairo and the Egyptian Museum, and we will start by:

    Salah El-Din Citadel:

One of the greatest Islamic landmarks in Cairo, the citadel was built in 1176 AD, but the construction wasn’t completed until 1182 AD, during the reign of Malek El-Kamel, who came as a king after Salah-Elden. The citadel served as a fortress and a protector of Egypt for a long time, so it is considered one of the completed military structures in addition to its water well, which was dug by the order of King Salah El-Din.

    Mohamed Ali Mosque:

Mohamed Ali Mosque, or as it’s known, the “alabaster mosque,” was built between 1830 and 1848 AD with a distinct and unique style. It is called the “alabaster mosque” because of the excessive usage of marble and alabaster. After that, you will enjoy your lunch with your tour guide in a very good restaurant in Cairo, then we will continue your 6 Days Cairo and Alexandria Tour by visiting:

    Sultan Hassan Mosque:

The madrasa mosque of Sultan Hassan is located in Salah El-Din Square, and it was built during the Mamluk period between 1356 and 1363 AD. The mosque of Sultan Hassan is one of the most distinguishing Islamic landmarks in Cairo because of its unique design, which covers about 7906 meters at a height of 36 meters.

    Mosque of Ibn Tulun:

It is one of the oldest mosques in Egypt; the mosque of Ibn Tulun was categorized as one of the three largest mosques in the world during the period from 868 to 883 AD. The mosque was built in the style of ancient architecture, with carve stucco and wood, giving it a unique and brilliant design.

    Al Rifai Mosque:

The mosque of al Rifai is located in the square of al Qala’a next to Salah El-Din Citadel and in front of Sultan Hassan Mosque, and it took several years to finish the building process from 1868 to 1912, covering 6,500 sq. m. We will drive you back to your hotel for the night at the end of your Islamic day tour in Your 6 Days Cairo and Alexandria Tour. Note See other Alexandria tourism packages from here.

Pompye's-Pilar On the fourth day of your 6 Days Cairo and Alexandria Tour, first you will have breakfast at your hotel, then you will join your private Egyptologist tour guide to transfer you by private AC vehicle to Alexandria city to start your adventure by visiting:

    The Qaitbay Citadel:

The Qaitbay citadel was built as a defensive fortress in the heart of the bride of Mediterranean “Alexandria City” by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf Al-Din Quitbay, who began construction in 1477 AD but finished it in 1479 AD. Sultan Al-Ashraf took the same inspiration from one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, “Alexandria Light House,” to build his citadel.

    Pompey’s Pillar:

The largest memorial column in Egypt, which is made from red granite, stands at 30 m in height and is located on the top of a rocky hill in the heart of Alexandria city. This amazing pillar was built during the reigns of Ptolemy II and Ptolemy III, and it was destroyed many times before being rebuilt by Hadrian.

    Alexandria Library:

The legendary Bibliotheca of Alexandria is considered one of the greatest and largest libraries in the ancient world, and it was dedicated to the nine goddesses of the arts. The Alexandria library was a part of a larger research foundation called Mouseion, and it was like a center of information and knowledge for many philosophers and thinkers. After your Alexandria tour, we will drive you back to your Cairo hotel for the Fourth night in Your 6 Days Cairo and Alexandria Tour.

    The Egyptian Museum:

It is one of the world’s largest and best museums, with amazing artifacts and treasures dating back more than 4,000 years from various ages and dynasties in Egyptian history. More than 100,000 masterpieces of treasure reflect the true meaning of ancient Egyptian civilization because these artifacts belonged to the most famous Egyptian pharaohs, such as King Tutankhamen, King Amenhotep, and many other great kings from various dynasties and ages.

    The Hanging Church:

The hanging church was built on the south side of the Roman fortress “Babylon,” and it is considered Egypt’s oldest church; it is also known as the “church of steps” due to the numerous steps required to reach the church’s main gate. After that, we’ll go exploring:

    Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque:

The Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque was built in 641 AD in Fustat City, which was founded by Muslims in Egypt after Islamic conquest, and is the largest mosque ever built in Islamic history.

    The National Egyptian Museum:

The national Egyptian museum is the first museum built only to focus on ancient Egyptian history and civilization. The museum contains artifacts and treasures that date back more than 4500 years that reflect the ancient Egyptian culture from the Egyptian Period to the Greco-Roman, Islamic, and Coptic Periods. Bazaar Khan EL Khalili: Your last stop in your 6 Days Cairo and Alexandria Tour will be Khan El-Khalili Bazaar. Frequently Asked & Questions

Most 6-day tours focus on Cairo highlights with a full-day trip to Alexandria.

You can usually expect:

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo, hotel check-in, free time or short city walk.
Day 2: Giza Plateau (Pyramids, Sphinx, Valley Temple), optional camel ride, papyrus or perfume stop.
Day 3: Egyptian Museum or Grand Egyptian Museum (if open on your dates), Old Cairo, Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
Day 4: Citadel of Saladin, Mohamed Ali Mosque, more Cairo neighborhoods, optional Nile dinner cruise.
Day 5: Full-day trip to Alexandria, often including the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Qaitbay Citadel, and library exterior.
Day 6: Free time for last-minute shopping, then transfer to the airport.
Details change by operator, so always read the day-by-day plan before you book.

Six days is enough for the main sights, as long as the itinerary is well planned.

You should have:

Two to three full days in Cairo for the Pyramids, Sphinx, museum, Old Cairo, and markets.
One full day in Alexandria for the key coastal and historical spots.
You will not see everything, but you will cover the most famous landmarks without feeling rushed every hour.

The most comfortable months are October to April. Temperatures are milder, sightseeing is easier, and long days outside feel more pleasant.

July and August are very hot, especially around the Pyramids, but still workable if you start early, drink plenty of water, and wear light, breathable clothing.

The drive between Cairo and Alexandria is usually 2.5 to 3 hours each way by car or bus.

Most 6-day tours visit Alexandria as a day trip. You leave Cairo in the morning, see the main sites in Alexandria, have lunch by the sea, then return to Cairo in the evening. Some higher-end or custom tours let you spend one night in Alexandria instead.

Tour routes stick to tourist-friendly areas, so traveler safety is usually quite good. Larger tour companies use licensed guides and drivers, plus they track local conditions.

Use common sense:

Keep valuables out of sight.
Follow your guide’s advice in busy areas.
Use registered taxis or arranged transport, not random offers.
If your government issues travel advice for Egypt, read the latest update before you go.

Both cities are relatively relaxed, but modest clothing is respectful and more comfortable.

Good guidelines:

Shoulders and knees covered for men and women in mosques.
Light, loose fabrics for the heat.
A scarf for women is handy for some religious sites.
Comfortable walking shoes or sandals with good support.
For the Pyramids and Alexandria seafront, casual clothing is fine, as long as it is not too revealing.

Many tours include access to the Giza Plateau, but not always a ticket to go inside a pyramid. Going inside the Great Pyramid or one of the smaller pyramids usually needs a separate ticket that you buy on-site or add when you book.

If going inside a pyramid matters to you, confirm:

Which pyramid, if any, is included.
Whether the interior ticket is included or extra.
If there are time limits or specific hours for entry.

You usually get some free time in the evenings and sometimes a half-day with no scheduled visits. This depends a lot on the operator and whether your package is private or part of a small group.

If you like a slower pace, ask for:

At least one afternoon off in Cairo.
Flexibility for optional activities like a Nile dinner cruise or a sound-and-light show.
