Ancient Egypt is one of the most prominent civilizations that humanity has witnessed throughout history, and the creativity of the Pharaohs increased in many fields such as engineering arts architecture and agriculture However, Egypt faced some natural disasters and some pests that descended on the country in the era of the Pharaohs.
The Egyptians thought that these natural disasters descended on Egypt in order to convince the Pharaoh to free the enslaved They are considered some of the signs that God Almighty gave to respond to Pharaoh that he is the Lord of the Worlds.
In this article we will talk about the plagues of Egypt and some of the disasters that Egypt suffered from during the reign of Pharaoh.
1- Swarms of Locusts
Pharaoh claimed that he was the god of Egypt and our master Moses refused this talk. Pharaoh wanted all the people to worship him, but Moses warned him that God would send some of Egypt’s plagues upon him, including locusts on all lands, covering the entire face of the earth and eating all the plants that exist on the earth.
The locusts actually devoured more than 100 tons of green plants that existed on the surface of the earth at that time in one day even eating the roots The longer they remained, the more devastation and destruction spread throughout the region The plagues of Egypt were one of God’s soldiers with which God punished Pharaoh and those who believed in him.
2- The Flood
God Almighty ordered the water to drown the people of Pharaoh and their homes and all the homes in this area were filled with water As for the Children of Israel not a single drop of this water entered their homes.
There were many people who believed in Pharaoh calling out to Moses and telling him to pray to God Almighty for them so that they would be saved from this flood Moses, peace be upon him called them to believe in God alone and that this flood was from God’s punishment for them so that they would return to worshipping Him and stay away from polytheism and misguidance This flood lasted for seven days until they went to our master Moses and asked him to pray, so he prayed to God to remove the flood from them, but they did not believe after that.
3- Frogs
Frogs are considered one of the soldiers of Allah Almighty that He sent to the children of Israel These frogs came out from everywhere, especially from the Nile and fed all the houses of those who associated partners with Allah alone, until they entered Pharaoh’s palace and began to throw themselves everywhere.
The frogs continued in this state for about three days At that time, the Egyptians tried to get rid of all these frogs and made many attempts to get rid of them, but they did not succeed until Allah Almighty ordered these frogs to be revealed to them and that they would repent this time But after Allah revealed the frogs to them and they all died they returned again to associating partners with Allah.
4- Lice
God tormented the Pharaohs at that time with lice. God sent them to Pharaoh and those who believed in him It was one of the signs that God Almighty sent to the children of Israel, as God inspired Aaron to strike the dust of the earth with his staff, from which came out one of the plagues of Egypt, with which God tormented Pharaoh and those who believed with him until all the dust in this period became lice.
It is considered the first biological war known to history, and all the lice attacked Pharaoh and his people, as their drink and food were filled with it, to the point that it ate the grain that the Egyptians had saved to obtain their food throughout the year.
5- Blood
Our master Moses and his brother Aaron went to Pharaoh to ask him to release the children of Israel and make them worship God alone, but Pharaoh was arrogant and transgressed on earth so God Almighty punished him with blood,
One of the things that God punished the children of Israel with when they doubted Moses so there was severe bleeding coming out of their bodies, all covered in blood even the water when the atheists drank it at that time turned into blood, and there are some sayings that said that when the believer and the atheist gather together on one vessel the water next to the polytheist becomes blood, but the water next to the believer remains water as it is.
This blood appeared when God Almighty ordered Moses and Aaron to strike the sea with the stick and when Aaron raised the stick and struck the Nile water in full view of Pharaoh and his entourage all the water in the Nile turned into blood and all the fish in it died.
The Egyptians at that time could not drink from the Nile water and they dug wells and springs around the river Despite all of this Pharaoh did not believe, but rather his heart hardened and he did not release the Children of Israel.
6- Flies
Flies were one of the plagues of Egypt with which God tormented Pharaoh when Moses went to Pharaoh and tried to convince him to worship God alone with no partner and to leave the Children of Israel. Pharaoh was arrogant and transgressed in the land Moses warned that God would send flies against him and his people, but Pharaoh did not believe either.
The next day flies filled all parts of Egypt except the area where the Children of Israel lived Then Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron and told them that he would leave them to worship in the desert When the affliction was over Pharaoh returned to disbelief again and did not release the Children of Israel.
7- Darkness
Pharaoh continued his tyranny despite Moses and his brother Aaron going to him more than once Then God Almighty ordered our master Moses to extend his hand towards the sky, so darkness spread throughout Egypt for three days No one could see the other, and the sun did not rise except in the area where the children of Israel lived.
Then Pharaoh told Moses to go and worship him and those who believed with him, but they should leave their sheep When the darkness cleared, Pharaoh became arrogant again and refused to let the children of Israel go out to worship and threatened our master Moses with death.
