     Alexandria library:

Alexandria library is the sun of science. Alexandria library is a huge edifice of magnificence and beauty, modern in style from the outside, but it contains within it the history and cultures of the ancient and modern world, as it is a time machine that carries you to another life through historical books and rare manuscripts that only exist in it. The library is located in the coastal city of Alexandria on the Mediterranean Sea in the Arab Republic of Egypt, specifically in the Shatby area between the complex of theoretical faculties of Alexandria University and the sea, where it was opened after its modernization in 2002, and it is the same site as the ancient Library of Alexandria, which archaeological excavations indicated that it occurred in the royal quarter, and contemporary with the Greco-Roman civilization in the past, and for this the age of Alexandria library dates back thousands of years. “An incomplete sun disk,” this is how the library looks in its exterior design, as it is covered by glass that reflects the sun’s rays from the outside to a large extent, so that its face towards the sea is 160 meters high. The library is bordered on the outside by a wall built of Aswan granite stone, which was used in the past in the construction of pharaonic temples and tombs, inscribed with alphabet letters collected from 120 different languages. It is among the waters of the sea, and its cultural rays overlook the land of Egypt, while the lighthouse expresses the city of Alexandria, “the bride of the Mediterranean.” We Will Continue Your Alexandria sightseeing by Discovering:

    Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa:

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa Alexandria, the bride of the Mediterranean, includes many antiquities that are characterized by antiquity and originality. It is like an open museum of archaeological sites. A wanderer in its streets, wherever his eyes fall, feels beauty and magic. This inspiring city on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, which abounds with many monuments from many civilizations, especially the Roman civilization.  which can be clearly observed. The name of Kom al-Shoqafa goes back to the area in which the cemetery was discovered, which was famous for making pottery vessels, and the name Kom al-Shoqafa is the Arab name that the Arabs gave to the region in revival of the ancient Greek name.  Where he used to dump the remnants of the industry.

    Qaitbay Citadel :

The oldest historical castles of Egypt on the Mediterranean.. Qaitbay Citadel, the place of the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the World . Behind its walls stand many evidences that speak of its uniqueness. It is the ancient Citadel of Qaitbay in Alexandria Governorate, which includes the oldest mosque and the art of ancient wars from centuries ago, including the engineering construction of wars that prevents the entry of enemies across the Mediterranean Sea from the north due to the presence of openings specially built for soldiers with places of protection for them, as well as  The first to use the idea of throwing boiling oil on enemies in the event of an attack on the ruins of the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria. Qaitbay Citadel is not only one of the largest and most famous castles in Egypt, but rather one of the most important and symbolic castles in its military and archaeological history, and now this castle has become one of the most famous  Tourist attractions, visited by thousands of countries around the world.

    The Roman theater:

The Roman theater in Alexandria sightseeing is a unique architectural style for those interested in architecture, whether in terms of building materials or the architectural elements that were used in it, compared to other buildings that were established in this era. Through the drawings, decorations and inscriptions on the parts of this monument, it was indicated that  Three eras passed on the Roman theater in Alexandria. The Roman era, the Ptolemaic era, the Christian Byzantine era, and the Islamic era, which made it a unique monument. The Roman theater in Alexandria, one of the most important monuments of the Roman era, located in Egypt.  The theater was discovered by chance during the archaeologists’ search for the tomb of Alexander the Great in 1960 AD, by one of the Polish missions, and they called it the Roman Theater because of the presence of those marble steps. We will Go to Proceed Your Alexandria sightseeing by visiting:

    The Pompey’s Pillar:

The Pompey’s Pillar  is a tall structure in the city of Alexandria, located on the Mediterranean coast in the Arab Republic of Egypt. It was known by this name because it was rising among 400 other columns, and resembled the masts of ships. Over time, the word masts was changed to masts. It was also known as the Pompey Column, but it was named by mistake after the Roman general “Pompey”, whose ashes were believed by the Crusaders in the Middle Ages to be in this column. Pompey’s Pillar is the highest monument in Egypt. The Pompey’s Pillar was built on Bab Sidra Hill between the Kom al-Shoqafa plateau and the Muslim burial area, known as the Column Burials within the Karmouz area. Also at the top of the west side is an inscription written in Greek, visible only in the sun, saying: To the emperor, the just god protecting Alexandria, Diocletian the invincible. The Roman governor of Egypt built this monument between 284-305 AD in honor of the Roman emperor Diocletian after a remarkable position. continue Your Alexandria sightseeing and Visit:

Frequently Asked & Questions

For a 2-day trip, prioritize the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, the Citadel of Qaitbay, and a stroll along the Corniche. You might also fit in the Roman Amphitheatre or the Montaza Palace Gardens.

Taxis (including ride-sharing apps like Uber/Careem) are the most convenient and time-efficient for tourists. For shorter distances or a local experience, you can try the iconic blue and yellow trams, though they can be slower. Walking along the Corniche is also a must.

Yes, with a well-planned itinerary. Dedicate your mornings to major historical sites and use your afternoons/evenings for exploring local markets (like Attarine Market), enjoying a traditional meal, or relaxing at a seaside cafe.

Staying near the Corniche or downtown (city center) is recommended. This puts you close to many attractions, restaurants, and public transport options, minimizing travel time between sights.

The best time is during the spring (March-May) or autumn (September-November). The weather is pleasant, avoiding the intense summer heat and the cooler, sometimes rainy, winter months, making sightseeing more comfortable.

Alexandria can be quite affordable. A mid-range budget for two days (excluding international flights) could be around $100-$200 USD per person, covering accommodation, food, local transport, and entrance fees. This can vary greatly depending on your choice of hotels and dining.

Don't miss out on fresh seafood, particularly grilled fish from a Corniche restaurant. Also, try Alexandria's famous foul medames (fava beans), koshary (a mix of rice, pasta, lentils, and chickpeas), and local pastries. Enjoying a coffee or tea at a traditional café is also a must.

Dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites. Be prepared for friendly haggling in markets. While generally safe, be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas, and keep an eye on your belongings. Tipping (baksheesh) for services is customary.

It's highly recommended to dedicate the full two days to Alexandria itself. Trying to combine it with another major city like Cairo would be rushed and wouldn't allow you to properly experience either destination.

Pack comfortable walking shoes, light clothing (especially in warmer months), a light jacket or scarf for evenings, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. A small daypack for essentials and a portable charger for your phone are also very useful.
